Custom conversions on smaller vans

Here at Woodhacker I specialise in custom work on smaller vans, such as Toyota Hiace, VW Caddy, Vw T4 & T5s, Transits and similar. My style is Rustic, homely and unique.

Whether you’re dreaming of a complete custom build or looking to enhance your current van, I’m here to work closely with you every step of the way, incorporating your ideas into the final build. This has involved many interesting ideas from using an instrument for a table leg (yes one of my customers once posted me a didgeridoo to cut down to make a table leg) or needing a chess board pyrographed onto your table top. I love to turn your ideas into beautiful, quirky details.

We can base it on my standard layout or create something entirely unique, incorporating your personal style, colour choices, and any special touches you envision. Whether you’re looking for a full conversion or specific features like custom wood cladding, a versatile pull-out bed, a practical kitchen unit, or any other detail, I’m here to help you bring it to life.

Conversion Services

As well as full conversions I also offer the following:

• Window replacements and installations, standard, vent, porthole, skylight
• 12v solar system, solar panels, led lights
• Air blown diesel heaters
• Sinks and taps, footpump operated or 12v taps
• Insulation and sound deadening
• Cladding & plylining
• Flooring

For added convenience, I also offer collection and delivery if you’re short on time to travel.

The Process

A full conversion usually takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks and typically the process will be along the lines of the following:

• Contact

  The first step on your journey is to contact me either by phone for an initial chat. If you have more of an idea of what you need then drop me an email with as much detail as you can.

• Quote

  We can then discuss the details further such as design, layout, timescales and anything else so that I can put together an estimated quote for the work required

• Book your slot

  Once you are happy with the plan I will book you in which will require a non-refundable deposit and for you to agree to the Tcs & Cs.

  In the case of a full conversion this will usually be £1000 deposit.

  Deposits for one off conversion services will be agreed between us depending on the size and cost of the job.

  I will then start ordering materials

• The Build

  The fun part! I will stay in touch with you throughout the build process, updating you and keeping you involved in the process as much or as little as you would prefer.

  Some of my customers give me an initial brief on colour and style preferences and then don't want to see anything until it is finished, choosing to keep the end result as a surprise. Others prefer to be involved in all of the details of the design and build process.

  I am happy to work with you in whichever way suits you.

• Subsequent and Final payments

  After the initial deposit payment additional payments may be required during the build process to cover material costs. I will always send Invoices and receipts for any money received.

  All outstanding payments on completion of the work must be paid before the van is driven away.
